Rao Garuda, ChFC, CLU
Rao is the President of Associated Concepts Agency Inc., founded in 1978. He came from India with $7 and a scholarship to the University of Colorado to pursue his Master’s degree in engineering. Rao is also a graduate of American College from Bryn Mawr, PA. Rao has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is also a principal of First Financial Resources with over 120 partners located in all 50 states and co-founded The American Tax Planning Institute.
Rao is frequently invited to conduct seminars on financial planning techniques, asset protection, how to significantly reduce taxes, retirement income planning, charitable giving and estate planning. His expertise also includes being a Chartered Financial consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter. Rao’s main passion in life is making a difference using charitable planning ideas and he is a life and qualifying member of MDRT for the past 30 years. He has consecutively qualified for Top of the Table for 21 years and is also a member of the International Forum and Director of the Forum 400.
Rao has authored three books: ‘Meaning of Money’, ‘America’s Savings Challenge’ and ‘Ten Most Common Tax Mistakes.’ He takes 3 months each year to attend seminars and educate himself and another 3 months for charitable activities and travel.
Rao is married to a physician (retired), who also values and promotes philanthropy; they have donated over one million dollars to various charitable causes and Rao has dedicated his life to assisting successful individuals with making a transition from success to significance, as outlined in his book ‘Meaning of Money.’ Rao and his wife have two sons who are highly accomplished in their own fields. One son is a physician who is married to another physician and the other son is managing director for a major financial services firm. Rao has been a resident of Shaker Heights, Ohio, since 1965.
Lee Hoffman Jr
Lee is the President/CEO of Planned Giving Design Center, LLC and the co-founder of EzCharitable, LLC. Known for his innovation in planned giving and thinking outside the box, Lee’s business history since 1979 has been in a straight line to one objective. That objective has been to further the planned giving process for the creation of more planned gifts that benefit society.
Seeing the need for automated calculations to further planned giving he founded PhilanthroTec in 1983, the first planned giving software company in the country.
In 1998 he developed and released the Planned Giving Design Center (www.pgdc.com), the largest website dedicated to planned giving with tens of thousands of members.
Seeing the vast need for the further education of advisors in the area of philanthropy, Lee and Randy Fox created EzCharitable, LLC, an online training and consultancy company.
Looking at his lifeline, very early on Lee saw the opportunity to use his combined capabilities in technology the law to leverage and multiply his efforts in philanthropy. His contributions to the planned giving field have created billions or dollars in charitable gifts.

Bob Ritter has been in life insurance sales and sales management for over four decades. He started with Mass Mutual in northern New Jersey and at age 26, he was appointed General Agent by Mass Mutual in Oakland, California — the youngest General Agent ever appointed by that company. Three years later he took over a New York City agency for Mass Mutual where he was twice awarded the National Manpower Award, the company’s most prestigious award for the development of sales leaders.
In the early 1980s, Bob formed InsMark, a company dedicated to producing transferable marketing techniques for a wider group of producers. The success of InsMark has been phenomenal as 150+ companies have sponsored InsMark products utilized by over 30,000 producers. He guides his business career based on the following premise: The will to win is not nearly as important as the will to prepare to win!
Bob is a life member of MDRT and was a qualifier for Top of the Table and International Forum until the growth of InsMark required all of his time. A dynamic and entertaining speaker, he has spoken at hundreds of industry seminars and conventions and was featured at the 1995, 1996, 2004, and 2008 MDRT annual meetings as well as the 2002 and 2004 annual meetings of the Top of the Table and 2003 and 2006 International Forum.
A past member of the MDRT Foundation’s Board of Directors, Bob was a member of the Split Dollar Sub-Task Force of the Association of Advanced Life Underwriters (AALU) during the lead-up to the Final Split Dollar Regulations issued in 2003. He is also the Founder and Past President of the Diablo Advocates, an organization dedicated to youth opportunities.
Bob graduated from The Lawrenceville School and from Williams College with a degree in Psychology. While at Williams, he also played lead cornet in the first college jazz band ever to play in Carnegie Hall. Called the Spring Street Stompers, this Dixieland jazz group won the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scout show on CBS (#1 in the ratings at the time), appeared on the Tonight show on NBC, and played frequently at the top jazz clubs in Boston and New York.
Bob and his wife, Laurel, live in Alamo, California. They have eight children and 22 grandchildren.
